Daniel Mast
Teaching Artist and Alumni Leader
Daniel “D. Mast” Mast is a DJ, producer, multimedia artist, and Teaching Artist with Give a Beat whose work centers on music as a pathway for healing, transformation, and community. With a longstanding connection to music and creative expression, Daniel discovered Give a Beat’s Prison Electronic Music Program during a pivotal chapter in his life, an experience that gave him one of the clearest visions of what reentry and a future in music could look like.
Since connecting with Give a Beat, Daniel has continued building his creative and professional path through mentorship, internships, industry exposure, and alumni engagement opportunities.
Today, he has come full circle as a Teaching Artist in the same Prison Electronic Music Program that first inspired him, helping participants explore music production, self-expression, and new possibilities for their lives.
Working creatively under the name D. Mast, Daniel’s broader work spans music, media, storytelling, and multimedia production. He is passionate about expanding access to arts education and creating opportunities for people navigating major life transitions to reconnect with their creativity, dignity, and purpose. Through teaching, storytelling, and creative collaboration, he hopes to help build stronger pathways for healing, growth, and long-term success through music.
