Hope Comes from the Last Note in Give a Beat's Prison Electronic Music Program

Our landmark Prison Electronic Music Program has been making a huge impact in the lives of incarcerated individuals, offering them an outlet for creative expression and a chance to connect with others through their love of music.

As we approached the end of another successful session, we were excited to see our participants thrive in the program. One of our program artists, Dangerous Beats, spoke to us during the closing circle and shared their thoughts and feelings about the program.

"I’m feeling very blessed to be a part of this class. I’m absorbing all of the information and technology you have shown us. I can’t wait to take this back into the real world when I am out. It makes me happy to know that there are programs out there like this, and I hope that one day my son will be able to Give a Beat."

It is stories like this that make our work so fulfilling. We believe that everyone deserves the chance to express themselves creatively and connect with others through music, and we are proud to be able to offer this opportunity to those who are incarcerated.

Through the Prison Electronic Music Program, we are able to teach our participants the technical skills required to produce music and DJ, but we are also able to offer them emotional and mental support that can be difficult to find in a prison environment. Music has the power to uplift, inspire, and heal, and we see this every day in the faces of our students.

We are thankful for the continued support of the Arts in Corrections program and all of the individuals and organizations that help make our work possible. As we move forward, we hope to expand our reach and bring the gift of music to even more individuals who could benefit from it.

Join us in bringing the gift of music to more individuals and learn how you can help:
